This quiet, contented way of life is overturned when a rich, sophisticated young man sweeps Patrys off her feet, and takes her to live with him in Johannesburg. Koos is devastated. The simple pleasures of his fishing life seem pointless, for without his beloved Trysie, he is lost. Taking his life savings, he sets out for the big city in search of the daughter who means more to him than life itself.
