| Contents: | An age-old rite of passage, from the country to the city, plays out in this drama studded with memorable songs. A country lass blessed with singing skills leaves her father and an unspoiled life on the picturesque Cape West Coast to try and make it big in the city with the help of a talent scout. Things do not begin well. She falls out with her first promoter when the latter’s associate starts taking a fancy to her. Then a series of catastrophic events follows, with the talent scout ending up in hospital. But, flush with money after some successes, the singer flies the stricken scout to Switzerland for specialist treatment. Memory lapses cause him to forget his benefactor and he falls for a Swiss beauty. She, however, insists he returns home to resolve his personal feelings. Listen for singing duo Jan and Mynie Grové, who perform the musical numbers.
